Suspect in 2023 Phnom Penh Hotel Murder Apprehended

PHNOM PENH, (EAC News) — Aug. 28, 2025 — Police have arrested a suspect in the 2023 murder of a woman in a Naga 1 Hotel bathroom.

The arrest was carried out in Prek Seng Village, Kandal Province, under a Phnom Penh Municipal Court order. The suspect, 25-year-old Cambodian Seng Pov, faces charges of murder and aggravated robbery.

Authorities said the operation was led by Brig. Gen. Kheng Mengchheang of the Criminal Police Department in coordination with Kandal Provincial Police. The suspect has been sent to the Criminal Police Department for further proceedings.
